Blue Water Marine Paint

This is the basic information for doing a bottom job using Blue Water Marine Paint, commercial product.  More details are on the Data Sheet for the product called for on this basic info sheet.  There is a lot more information on their website about all their products, click the link below.

Bottom Systems

 

Steel Bottoms

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash bottom with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint and fouling. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 to bare steel.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE AF 45.

 

 

Aluminum Bottoms

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash bottom with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint and fouling. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 to bare aluminum.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE AF 45.


Wood Bottoms

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash bottom with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint and fouling. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE AF 45.




Fiberglass Bottoms

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash bottom with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint and fouling. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 to bare fiberglass.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE AF 45.

Topside Systems

 

Steel Topsides

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 or MARINE ALKYD PRIMER to bare steel.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE ALKYD 50.


Aluminum Topsides

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 or MARINE ALKYD PRIMER to bare aluminum.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE ALKYD 50.


Wood Topsides

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 or MARINE ALKYD PRIMER to bare wood.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE ALKYD 50.


Fiberglass Topsides

  • Insure coating is intact.

  • Pressure wash with 3000 psi fresh water.

  • Remove loose paint. Blast or grind damaged areas.

  • Apply MARINE AC 70 or MARINE ALKYD PRIMER to bare fiberglass.

  • Apply 2 coats MARINE ALKYD 50.
